Preserving history.
Sharing histories.
Inspiring communities.

Dacorum Heritage is the Accredited Museum for the area of Dacorum. However, unlike traditional museums with public galleries, it exists as a museum store with visiting by appointment. Due to this fact, the staff and volunteers at Dacorum Heritage have to think quite creatively about ways to take objects and stories out into the community, in order to successfully share our local history.

Behind the scenes

Have you ever held a 6,000 years old Neolithic axe-head, looked closely at samplers dating from 1880 or measured yourself up against the wheel of a penny-farthing? These objects are all stored at The Dacorum Heritage Trust’s Museum Store in Berkhamsted.

Online exhibitions

When funding allows it DHT are able to create larger one off projects and exhibitions. In the past these have taken place within empty shop units in the Marlowes Shopping Centre, Boxmoor Hall and at Civic Centres.
