This earthenware whisky barrel on a wooden stand is from Balderson's whisky.

Henry Balderson was a notable figure in Hemel Hempstead, dealing with a wide range of materials from corn to coal. He also imported wines and spirits. He held many positions in the town, including High Bailiff and Mayor, Director of the Gas and Water Company, churchwarden of St John’s Church, as well as being a member of the Highway & Burial Boards.
