Dawn’s Delight

Little girl with a big sparkler is three-year-old [...], one of the smaller spectators among the 500 who went to the Guy Fawkes celebrations put on by the local Shelter committee at Little Gaddesden on Friday night.

Mr. C. T. Muddiman, of Home Farm, kindly made some of his land available for the giant bonfire to be built for the festivities, and half a hundredweight of potatoes – donated by Mr. G. Mead of Church Farm – 16 gallons of soup and 36lbs. of sausages were cooked and sold.

As a result, the event made a profit of £75 which will be sent to Shelter.
