Making maps
As part of the Sharing Dacorum Stories projects, funded by DBC, we're updating our learning resources. To help pupils (and us) to visualise the historic periods of the borough of Dacorum, we've commissioned a local artist to create 6 illustrated maps from pre-history to New Towns.
We'll be sharing updates on the project via our social media throughout the year.
The refreshed school loan boxes will be available from September 2026.
Meet the artist
Hi I'm Eve. I am an illustrator and arts educator based in Dacorum. I work with local heritage sites and students to bring history and art into peoples lives. Illustrating timelines, explorer packs and information boards are just some of the places you will see my work. British historic design is a treasure trove of inspiration, stories and secrets which can all be used to spark excitement for young people.
I believe a hands on approach is vital in all learning so I'm thrilled to be involved in creating physical learning materials for this project.
My happy place is digging through archives on the hunt for colour inspiration, human stories that can featured in illustrations, fonts and graphics that can be re-imagined in new designs which all help bring the stories to life.
I can't wait to get started!
